The Smartest Giant in Town

by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler

A marvelous story of George, a giant who decides to get rid of his old clothes and buy some smart ones from the local store. When he meets some friends who need his help, he generously offers, with no hesitation,  his new clothes and, in the end, he is the one who has nothing anymore. Still, he does not complain but starts all over again, to finally receive a special gift from his friends...

The pupils listened to the story with excitement and great interest. We discussed, apart from the different cloth items, the general meaning of the story and what the giant gained at the end.

We also made a nice flip book on the characters and the clothes of the story. the flip book
